White House No More

Remember these columns? Yes, they are finally down and will be relocated soon to Beckwith Dr. for the Rose's front porch. Mark is tired of painting their square wood columns.

The aluminum pair was replaced with square wood ones that need to be repainted once in a while. We do not care, we like how they look and go with the rest of the house.

Ed has declared that the "planting" season is over for this year (although I am still waiting for Breck to send us a bunch of spring bulbs). Overall, we have planted almost 300 bulbs, several hostas, lilacs, viburnums, heucheras, spireas, forsythias, red-twig and variegated dogwoods, several grasses, boxwood, hollies, vincas, ivy, liriopes, and lilies among others. We also finished setting up our gurgling jug and had some time to make a fall wreath for the front door.
